Words have power. In theatre, we see that words spoken aloud gain reality. Goals and desires gain weight when spoken. As a dramaturg, I support the playwright’s process of selecting exactly the right words to carry their stories out into the world.
PlayFest
Orlando Shakes produces a series of play readings each season. Seven plays over two weekends. Playwrights, actors and directors, Orlando Shakes and our Orlando audiences come together to celebrate the birth of new plays.
Pegasus PlayLab
Theatre UCF Pegasus PlayLab brings together emerging playwrights from around the country with UCF actors, directors, designers, dramaturgs, and audiences to put playwrights’ scripts on their feet in a collaborative and supportive space.
National New Play Network
As a Board Member of the National New Play Network (NNPN), I am proud to be part of the 130 theatres nationwide that work together to celebrate new plays. In December 2019, NNPN ratified a Strategic Plan centered on our shared commitment to new plays and equity, diversity, and inclusion in the new play field. NNPN’s New Play Exchange (NPX) is now the world’s largest and smartest database of new plays.
